We understand you are receiving many messages about the impact of COVID-19 (the Coronavirus). Like other businesses, we are monitoring the situation closely and are following guidance issued by federal, state and local government agencies, as well as healthcare providers.
Our firm has a strong business continuity plan in place. As part of our plan for dealing with issues related to the virus, we believe it is important to share the following temporary changes with you:
- For safety purposes, we are closing our office to the public. We are canceling all client meetings and are strongly discouraging clients from coming to our office.
- If you have documents to provide to us, you may mail them or we can send a courier to pick them up.
- You can also transmit documents to us electronically. You may use email to exchange non-confidential information. For confidential information or large documents, use our ShareFile system. If you need a link to our ShareFile system, contact your SFW representative. Electronic transmission is encouraged.
- We will deliver tax returns and other documents to you electronically and through the mail. We highly recommend electronic delivery. Paper deliveries are likely to be significantly delayed.
- We recognize these methods of delivery and pickup are very different than they have been in the past. As always, we are here to serve you. Please reach out to your SFW representative with any questions and concerns.
- In place of meetings, we can arrange teleconferences. We have conference call numbers that will allow multiple people to participate in the same conversation.
- A number of our employees may be working remotely during this time. Our staff is accustomed to working remotely, have access to electronic files, and have the responsibility to respond to clients with the same timeliness as when they are in the office. If you need immediate assistance, please contact our receptionist and she will transfer you to someone who can help as quickly as possible.
The IRS has not yet announced details about extending or postponing the April 15 due date. We believe it is highly likely the April 15th filing and payment date will be significantly delayed. We will keep you informed as soon as an official announcement is made.
These are unusual and uncertain times for everyone. Our plan will include taking advantage of the extended tax due dates so that we do not put unnecessary pressure on our team during this time.
We understand this may be a critical time for your business and your family. We will do everything we can to serve and support you. We will also do all we can to ensure your safety, the safety of SFW team members and their families.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your normal SFW representative or call our receptionist at 314-569-3333.
We value your business and appreciate your continued trust in our firm. This is a challenging time and we remain committed to serving you.
